Jersey's Josh Band finished on the podium at the Guildford Senior Open Grand Prix after an exhausting weekend.

Band eventually lost 3-0 to Ireland's Declan O'Brien in the Band Three final on Saturday, finishing his day's play more than 14 hours after he started.

The 20-year-old endured a frustrating day in the Band Two event, eventually losing all his group matches despite taking a 2-0 lead over the top seed.

On Sunday, Band lost out in the men's Under-21 tournament to Sam Mabey.

Band came close to another major shock when he was 6-4 up in the fifth against top seed Helshan Weerasinghe, but two service faults proved to be the turning point and another maximum ranking points win escaped him.
