    Gauff 3-3 Fernandez*

Superb stuff from Coco Gauff, who sends Leylah Fernandez back and forth along the baseline before lashing home a brutal cross-court winner as the Canadian runs out of steam.

A really comfortable hold for the 2023 US Open champion.

    *Djokovic 3-1 Machac

    What a rally!

Tomas Machac comes out on top in a brilliant 25-shot rally as Novak Djokovic misses the backhand volley at the net after some incredible pick-ups from Machac at the baseline.

  3. Djokovic breakspublished at 08:38 Greenwich Mean Time

    *Djokovic 3-1 Machac

Novak Djokovic takes his chance this time and moves ahead in this opening set with a break of serve under his belt.

Thomas Machac saved the first break point but there was no mistake from Djokovic on the second.

  4. Fernandez holdspublished at 08:37 Greenwich Mean Time

    *Gauff 2-3 Fernandez

Even on the second serve, Coco Gauff is struggling to challenge Leylah Fernandez.

That's better from the American, though, as she pulls off a sweeping forehand around the net to claw a point back. That won't be enough to put Fernandez off and the 30th seed holds.

It looks like Novak Djokovic is saying something about the wind.

It looks like the wind is adjusting his sight, maybe something is starting to blow into his eye. Sometimes you can get dust or something from the crowd that can maybe get into your vision.

He was using his towel on his face quite a lot during the sit down.

    Djokovic 2-1 Machac*

Novak Djokovic brings up two break points as Tomas Machac gets unlucky with a net cord and the Serb piles on the pressure.

Can he take his chance this time?

  7. Postpublished at 08:35 Greenwich Mean Time

    Djokovic 2-1 Machac*

Fascinating match up so far, this.

Some of Tomas Machac's movement is Novak Djokovic-esque at times. Ridiculous agility as he stretches to almost the point of splits to reach the ball.

Machac had to save three break points on his last service game and would've wanted a better start in his second one than the 0-30 deficit he currently has to make up.

  8. Gauff holdspublished at 08:33 Greenwich Mean Time

    Gauff 2-2 Fernandez*

The serve comes to the rescue for Coco Gauff, who gets the hold.

  9. Djokovic holdspublished at 08:32 Greenwich Mean Time

    Djokovic 2-1 Machac*

Tomas Machac not making it easy for Novak Djokovic.

But some clever play from the 24-time Grand Slam champion, dictating from the baseline, gets him over the line in his second service game.

  10. Postpublished at 08:32 Greenwich Mean Time

    *Gauff 1-2 Fernandez

Coco Gauff goes from hitting two brilliant winners to two bad misses, allowing Leylah Fernandez to pull level at 30-30.

And there she goes again. Another great play followed with a push into the net. Deuce.

  11. Fernandez saves three break points to holdpublished at 08:28 Greenwich Mean Time

    *Gauff 1-2 Fernandez

Top work from Leylah Fernandez. She's attacking Coco Gauff's forehand and it seems to be paying off, with the American sending another point into the net.

  12. Machac saves break points to holdpublished at 08:28 Greenwich Mean Time

    *Djokovic 1-1 Machac

Tomas Machac saves the first two break points as Novak Djokovic pushes into the net, then the Czech player hits an ace, then Djokovic misses the backhand at the net after a brilliant pick-up by Machac.

A wobbly start to his service game but Machac holds from 0-40 down.

Alejandro Davidovich Fokina has done it.

The Spaniard has beaten the odds to come from two sets to love down against Jakub Mensik, having saved two match points in a third set tiebreak, to seal his fourth round spot on Show Court Arena.

Czech Mensik had a strong foothold in the match, after comfortably taking the first two sets, but Davidovich Fokina showed some grit to win three sets on the bounce and go 4-0 up in the fifth set to close the game out.

Davidovich Fokina, who has now played back-to-back five setters in this year's tournament, will face 12th seed Tommy Paul in the fourth round.

  16. Break points Gauffpublished at 08:24 Greenwich Mean Time

Three chances, to be precise, as a series of errors from Leylah Fernandez land the Canadian in trouble.

  17. Djokovic holdspublished at 08:23 Greenwich Mean Time

    Djokovic 1-0 Machac*

Not straightforward by any stretch but Novak Djokovic has his first hold on the board.

  18. Gauff holdspublished at 08:22 Greenwich Mean Time

    Gauff 1-1 Fernandez*

Smart play from Coco Gauff, who jumps up to meet the lob from Leylah Fernandez before deciding to leave it and see it land just behind the baseline.

The Canadian goes for a sneaky drop shot, but it doesn't make it over the net and, besides, someone with Gauff's sped was always going to get there and the third seed seals the game with an ace.

  19. Postpublished at 08:21 Greenwich Mean Time

    *Djokovic 0-0 Machac

A tricky opening service game this is turning out to be for Novak Djokovic.

It looked like he had it in the bag at 40-15 but he wobbles off balance and nudges into the net and suddenly it's deuce.

  20. Fernandez holdspublished at 08:18 Greenwich Mean Time

    *Gauff 0-1 Fernandez

A big 'ooooohh' from the crowd as Coco Gauff almost takes the umpire's head off with a wild backhand return.
