Deary me, Aryna Sabalenka - that is stunning.

The Belarusian earns break point with a beautiful, fizzing double backhand winner.

She then steps into a tame Elise Mertens return and sends another backhand cross-court winner to the back corner of the court.

  3. Jarry holdspublished at 16:46 British Summer Time 6 July

    Jarry 3-6 6-7 (4-7) 4-4 Norrie*

Still just the one break of serve in this match, which is two hours and seven minutes old.

Cameron Norrie got it towards the end of the first set.

That's more like it from the defending champions.

Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend have turned things around against 15th seeds Nicole Melichar-Martinez and Liudmila Samsonova after losing the opening set on a tie-break.

The top seeds raced through the second set (rain delay aside) to take it 6-1.

  5. 'That shows you where Norrie's confidence is'published at 16:43 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Jarry 3-6 6-7 (4-7) 3-4 Norrie

    Greg Rusedski
Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra 2 and BBC Sounds

Sometimes you do have to take advantage of getting Cameron Norrie really out wide on the forehand side, with a ball that has got pace on it.

Norrie's capabilities are much better on that backhand side than on the forehand wing.

The Brit is trying to be brave with his forehands though, he has been firing them really well in this match and that just shows you where his confidence is.

  6. 'Jarry working for every point'published at 16:43 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Jarry 3-6 6-7 (4-7) 3-4 Norrie

    Simon Reed
    BBC commentator on BBC iPlayer

Jarry is having to work for virtually every point. There are still only 10 unforced errors from Norrie in two hours.

There was an opportunity for Jarry at 40-40. He needed to find some way of making his opponent play but Norrie looks on a mission.

  7. Sabalenka holdspublished at 16:42 British Summer Time 6 July

    Sabalenka 5-4 Mertens*

    Aryna Sabalenka holds to 15.

Elise Mertens will serve to stay in this first set.

  8. Norrie holdspublished at 16:42 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Jarry 3-6 6-7 (4-7) 3-4 Norrie

Cameron Norrie looked in control of this game but is taken to deuce by Nicolas Jarry before finally getting it done.

He's got to round four in consecutive Grand Slams, having been knocked out in the last 16 of the French Open a few weeks ago.

The Briton is close to going at least one step further in his home Slam.

  9. Mertens holdspublished at 16:38 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Sabalenka 4-4 Mertens

That is super stuff from Elise Mertens.

Aryna Sabalenka looks like she's going to get an instant break back but the Belgian saves three break points to keep hold of her serve.

  10. Jarry holdspublished at 16:37 British Summer Time 6 July

    Jarry 3-6 6-7 (4-7) 3-3 Norrie*

    BBC One

After challenging Nicolas Jarry's previous couple of service games, Cameron Norrie can't quite find his radar in this one. All square again.

Live coverage of this match on your telly box has switched to BBC One, as we see pictures of Carlos Alcaraz arriving at Wimbledon earlier in a baggy cream and gold-trimmed tracksuit that I'm not sure I would be able to pull off.

Correction - not a chance I could pull that off.

  11. 'Mertens trying to keep Sabalenka on the run'published at 16:37 British Summer Time 6 July

    Sabalenka 4-3 Mertens*

    Jeff Tarango
Former American tennis player on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra 2 and BBC Sounds

Elise Mertens is trying to keep Aryna Sabalenka on the run and she has been using the sliced forehand even when she's not on the defence.

Mertens is using it as a regular shot to try to keep Sabalenka from stepping in and getting a full swing on the ball. It has actually been working in the last few games.

  12. 'Norrie showing his personality'published at 16:34 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Jarry 3-6 6-7 (4-7) 2-3 Norrie

    John Lloyd
Former GB Davis Cup captain on BBC One

This reincarnation of Norrie is a lot noisier than it used to be. He wants to get his personality out there.

That was a decent slice from Jarry but not good enough to get past Norrie. He holds again.

  13. 'Jarry should be using those angles more'published at 16:33 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Jarry 3-6 6-7 (4-7) 2-3 Norrie

    Greg Rusedski
Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra 2 and BBC Sounds

Look at Nicolas Jarry's height, he should be using those angles more especially on this deuce side. At the moment, his serves are landing halfway up the box and curling.

If he hits them right, Cameron Norrie's footwork has to be perfect and if he doesn't anticipate it then he doesn't have a shot at making the return.

  14. Norrie holdspublished at 16:33 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Jarry 3-6 6-7 (4-7) 2-3 Norrie

Cameron Norrie has been almost perfect on serve today - he has faced only two break points on his serve so far in this match (saving them both) after two and a half sets of tennis.

A wonderful passing shot down the line earns him another hold.

  15. Mertens breaks!published at 16:31 British Summer Time 6 July

    Sabalenka 4-3 Mertens*

Well done, Elise Mertens! The Belgian earns herself two break points. She forces Aryna Sabalenka back with a forehand slice, comes to the net and smashes an overhead to break back.

  16. 'Norrie putting pressure on Jarry serve'published at 16:31 British Summer Time 6 July

    Jarry 3-6 6-7 (4-7) 2-2 Norrie*

    Simon Reed
    BBC commentator on BBC iPlayer

Jarry is continuing to serve at 134 mph. He is also getting 65% of first serves in.

However, you just feel that Norrie is putting so much pressure on his serve, time and time again, he is getting so many break opportunities.

  17. 'The real challenge for Sabalenka is the second set'published at 16:30 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Sabalenka 4-2 Mertens

    Jeff Tarango
Former American tennis player on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra 2 and BBC Sounds

    Aryna Sabalenka means business today.

Her long arms are such a huge advantage for her strength and power. She can reach everything and Elise Mertens is in a whole right now.

We will see though, the real challenge for Sabalenka this year has been the second set. I've seen her dominate so many first sets this year and then just apple crumble.

A contender for the longest game of the match but Nicolas Jarry finds a way through it to keep us on serve in set three.

  19. Sabalenka looking comfortablepublished at 16:30 British Summer Time 6 July

    Sabalenka 4-2 Mertens

    Gary Rose
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

Aryna Sabalenka has beaten Elise Mertens more than any other player on the tour, winning the last nine games between the two, and that impressive run is not looking in any danger of being ended here.

There were more chuckles a little earlier as the automatic line call shouted "out" after the ball had clipped the net on Elise Mertens' serve for let. I guess that's a feature that we'll get used to at Wimbledon as I'm not sure how it is ironed out.

  20. Mertens holdspublished at 16:28 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Sabalenka 4-2 Mertens

Elise Mertens holds to love. She needed that.

When the Belgian gets her first serve in she's doing well - winning nine from 10 so far.
