Novak Djokovic on his victory over Cameron Norrie:

"Great match. Obviously playing for the country is always the greatest pleasure and motivation. Lots of emotions and responsibility on the court. After a long season, you can feel it in the legs. I thought I started off the match well and served very well when I needed to. I think Norrie raised his level in the middle of the second set. He was serving well and it was very difficult to play a left-hander. I haven't played many left-handers lately. Overall, it's great to finish the job in the singles."

On the prospect of playing against Jannik Sinner in the semi-finals:

"We played a couple of really fantastic matches in Turin (at the ATP Finals). He's one of the best players in the world right now. Italy is a very strong nation. Let's see what happens. We're going to fight and leave it all out on the court."

So, we could have a repeat of the ATP Finals title clash on the cards on Saturday.

Earlier today, world number four Jannik Sinner helped Italy pull off a 2-1 comeback win against the Netherlands.

He fell to a 6-3 6-3 defeat by Novak Djokovic in Sunday's final, but he might be able to avenge it if he's selected to face the world number one.

OH MY! Did not see this coming.

Novak Djokovic gets into a row with the British fans after the band start up a tune to drown out the Serb's on-court interview.

Djokovic berates them by insisting they should "learn how to show respect" and tells them to "shut up".

Bit of unexpected needle to provide a bit of drama on what had been an undramatic night.

Novak Djokovic didn't face a single break point against Cameron Norrie.

The world number one has had a fantastic season - three majors and a seventh ATP Finals title.

Can he top it off with a Davis Cup triumph?

Sometimes you just hold your hands up and say you were beaten by the better player.

That is all Norrie can do.

No doubting that today, like he is so often, Djokovic is a cut above the rest.

The scoreline felt closer than the gulf in quality, to be honest.

Djokovic roars in delight and chest-bumps his captain Viktor Troicki before consoling Norrie and a set of friendly handshakes between the entire two teams.

Some stunning tennis from Cameron Norrie. An ace followed by a forehand down the line puts him 40-0 up.

He fires the next point into the net before hitting home another ace. It's an unsuccessful challenge by Djokovic as Norrie holds.

He keeps himself in the match, but for how long? The world number one will serve for the match.

Not quite, Novak. He challenges a call on his cross-court forehand, but it's well out and it allows Norrie to pull a point back.

And another! Djokovic forces one into the net. 40-30.

Cameron Norrie wins the first point on Djokovic's serve, but the world number one looks determined to get this match over and done with.

Maybe a little too determined? The Serb slips as he races to reach a Norrie return.

He regains his composure for another hold.
