Warm-ups are over and it's going to be American Taylor Fritz to serve first in the US Open final.

Tonight is just the second time that an Italian (Jannik Sinner) and an American (Taylor Fritz) have met in a Grand Slam men's singles final during the Open era.
Italy's Adriano Panatta prevailed in the 1976 French Open final, beating American Harold Solomon 6-1, 6-4, 4-6, 7-6.

Jannik Sinner speaking in the tunnel prior to walking on to court for the final: "I feel like every final is different so happy to be here. It's a special occasion so let's see what is going on today."
On playing his fourth American at this year's US Open: "The crowd has been very amazing, very fair. I'm looking forward to it. Playing against an American it's not easy but it's normal. We are in New York so I'm looking forward to it, hopefully it's going to be a good match."

Jannik Sinner is my favourite for this final. Some of the tennis that he has been producing has been absolutely jaw dropping and you only have to stand courtside to hear that ball coming out of the strings, the ferocity and the intensity that he plays with.
His defence is phenomenal, how he turns defence into attack and then that explosive forehand that comes from nowhere.
He is very calm, he is very difficult to read psychologically but it's not to say that Taylor Fritz doesn't have a shot today.

Taylor Fritz speaking in the tunnel prior to walking on to court for the final: "I'm really excited honestly. I feel like I have waited a long time for this and I love these moments."
On the effect of the crowd: "I think they are going to be a big part of it. Obviously last match playing Frances [Tiafoe] it was pretty split but I'm excited to be out there today and have the crowd back on my side."

Here they come.
A huge roar, as you'd expect, for home hope Taylor Fritz.
Can he channel that support in the right way tonight? There's always a danger that the level of expectation can become too much to handle.
Last night's women's final was played under the roof due to heavy rain but the sun is shining and it looks afternoon in New York.

The sun is shining at Flushing Meadows and there is a real buzz around an American having reached the final, as fans rush in before the players walk out.

All eyes will be on Jannik Sinner's left wrist when the action gets going.
Sinner fell awkwardly and appeared to sustain an injury during the second set of his victory against British number one Jack Draper in Friday's semi-final.
The Italian received treatment during a change of ends and didn't seem hampered by the problem as he went on to close out the encounter.
"The physio loosened it up very fast on court, so I felt OK in the beginning. Then it went away by playing, which is good," Sinner said in his post-match news conference on Friday.
"Hopefully it's nothing to be concerned about. I'm quite relaxed, because if it's something bad, you feel it straightaway a bit more."

We're not far away from this final getting under way.
As we saw last night before the women's singles final, there is a rendition of America The Beautiful on Arthur Ashe.
American singer Ruben Studdard has the honour of belting it out tonight.
Right, that's done and dusted pretty swiftly so we should be seeing Jannik Sinner and Taylor Fritz shortly.

My only doubt with Taylor Fritz today is that I'm not sure if he has the necessary elements to beat Jannik Sinner.
Fritz has a very defined playing style, I think he relies a lot on his serve and his forehand.
He was dictating play with his forehand very well in the previous rounds but I think he needs to add something extra today.
I don't think he's going to be able to outplay Sinner from the back of the court, he will have to look for alternatives other than his usual game today. This is the biggest challenge he has to face.
