What the players in the locker room and fans around the world appreicate with De Minaur is that you are always going to get 100% effort. He is not one to lose belief when he faces defeat, he holds his head up.

I'm sure he believes he can push this to five sets and plans on moving through to his first semi-final.

Even though he went down in that closely fought third set, there is no surprise that Alex [de Minaur] has bounced back in this set. He has such a professional attitude.

Are my eyes deceiving me, or is De Minaur really trying to lift the weight of shot up?

A rare release of emotion from Alex de Minaur after darting to the net and volleying a winner. This match has lacked that type of quality and the passion that followed.

    Mark Woodforde

The first set was a very different Auger-Aliassime, but he has kept his demeanour and not let himself spiral down with the unimpressive level of tennis in the first set. It is slowly starting to come together for him.

At the back end of the second set and the back end of the third set, his level of tennis was overwhelming the Australian.

Alex de Minaur has taken the opportunity to head to the locker room before we get going with the fourth set.

    Got it!

Goodness me. It looked like we might be in for another tie-break there but, after three hours and 15 minutes, Auger-Aliassime takes the third set and a one-set lead in this quarter-final match.

It still feels like we are a long way from getting a winner here, though.

    *Auger-Aliassime 4-6 7-6 (9-7) 6-5 De Minaur

How that cross-court forehand stayed in, I have no idea but it gives Auger-Aliassime the first point towards him taking the third set.

De Minaur fires wide before Auger-Aliassime hits a fourth double fault of this set to offer the Australian a lifeline.
