Truly a different player to the one we saw in the Wimbledon final.

Some big serving from the American nudges her ahead once again but we remain on serve.

They are motoring through this game. We are 16 minutes in and already four games down, it is quite a fast-paced match.

You don't get the feeling there is going to be a lot of long, extended, physical rallies in this match.

Oh wow. I think Swiatek thought she had that point won with a lovely cross-court forehand but Anisimova manages to send back a loopy return.

Swiatek tries to take it on the forehand as it's coming down from the sky but it hits the rim of the racquet and flies way out of court. Swiatek looks at her racquet absolutely baffled.

Anisimova saves the second break point, too. Deuce.

    *Anisimova 2-2 Swiatek

Bit of frustration from Anisimova as she hits her forehand long and hands Swiatek two break points.

That forehand can be deadly when the American gets it right but when it's wrong it has proved costly.

Anisimova chasing down every ball and trying to keep it in play. It pays off as she paints the line with a powerful forehand then a double fault from Swiatek moves her to 15-30 on the Pole's serve.

Excellent serving so far from Anisimova.

Everyone has been marvelling because she has really started to use her serve as a weapon. It is a beautiful service motion which is very fluid. She gets a nice straight ball toss, uses her legs.

She is getting a lot of free points off of it in this tournament.

Anisimova is quite one-paced in the way she plays - the way the racquet meets the ball, it comes out at a quite similar trajectory all the time and it is always at a similar paced.

There isn't any adaption, height changes or spins at the back of the all. It is all-out ball striking.

First break back point saved as Anisimova goes long.

The second one is wiped out when the American nudges into the net but a volley placed in Swiatek's wake gets the job done and breaks back.

Well that is a relief for Anisimova. On the board in this quarter-final and she let's out a big roar.

Well, well, well. That's more like it from Anisimova. She attacks the Swiatek serve and brings up three break points.

A real blow for Anisimova, that. She must put it behind her to prevent another situation like the Wimbledon final.

Wow. A fast start for Swiatek and she takes the break in the opening game of the match.

Let's hope that's not going to knock Anisimova's confidence too much. She would've really wanted to get off to a positive start.

I sat at Wimbledon thinking whether Anisimova would ever recover from such a public humiliation, but I think she has more than recovered.

It's either her or her team that have enabled her to put it to one side, absorb what happened and not dwell on it too much.

I think she responded with flying colours. The results have been impressive.

  20. Lessons to learn for Anisimovapublished at 21:19 British Summer Time 3 September

    Anisimova v Swiatek

Amanda Anisimova has recovered incredibly well from that demoralising 6-0 6-0 defeat by Iga Swiatek in the Wimbledon final - her first major final.

Like the Polish second seed, she has dropped just one set on her way to this quarter-final and looks to be relaxed and enjoying herself at her home Grand Slam.

Anisimova, who took a break from the sport two years ago to protect her mental health, perhaps looked to what she learned during a stint studying business with psychology at university after her run at the All England Club.

Battling the nerves and anticipation around this being a final repeat will be key for Anisimova today.
