Those last few games would have been tough to lose for Emma Raducanu. She had a break point to go up 5-1 and she had 40-15 to go up 5-2.

However Aryna Sabalenka, as a world number one will so often do, has raised her game.

I like that Raducanu is still feeling confident enough to feel that she can withstand the power of Sabalenka.

    Sabalenka 7-6 (8-6) 4-4 Raducanu*

A few minutes ago, Emma Raducanu had a point on Aryna Sabalenka's serve for a 5-1 lead in this second set.

Now we're back at 4-4 after a routine Sabalenka hold.

One or two mistakes lose the set from here, one small spell of brilliance wins it.

But then the Briton is off target and Sabalenka has another chance.

  7. 'Raducanu making her serves not so predictable'published at 21:45 British Summer Time

    Sabalenka 7-6 (8-6) 2-4 Raducanu*

    Tracy Austin
Two-time Grand Slam champion on BBC One

Emma Raducanu has got a very hefty percentage of her first serves in - 73% of them - but she has changed them up a bit. She is making them not so predictable.

In the first set, she was serving about 90% of them out wide in the deuce but the number into the middle and at the body has raised in the second set.

That's where she has changed her approach and she has really jammed up 5ft 11in Aryna Sabalenka with more body serves.

Raducanu's return game has gone up a notch, it feels.

She's slightly stepped in and not afraid to take the ball on from the baseline.

Sabalenka is not able to bully her.

    Russell Fuller
Tennis correspondent on BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds

This is the best I have seen her play this year - unquestionably.

To be able to keep this level and intensity after an hour and 38 minutes against the world number one, to recover from losing the first set on a tie-break, to be 4-1 up in the second is a situation I could have only dreamed of at the start of this set.

    Ah, magnificent!

Four points in a row from Emma Raducanu, the last of them secured with a terrific forehand volley at the net, and she backs up that break of serve.

Yesterday, I sat in this seat discussing Jack Draper and him not yet having that late-night "Murray moment" at Wimbledon.

Well, we could probably say the same for Emma Raducanu, couldn't we?

    Maybe it's tonight?

    The belief is back!

In both the increasingly-resilient Raducanu and the increasingly-hopeful Centre Court crowd.

But, as ever, the true test will be consolidating the break.
