It's insane to think that Novak Djokovic has won so much in perhaps the toughest era of the history of our sport, certainly on the men's side.

To add to that, to stay fit and healthy, he really hasn't missed a massive amount of tennis when you reflect on the previous 20 years.

To then have that hunger, desire and motivation because we all understand and appreciate how hard you've got to work on the practice court, in the gym, on the track, all the different routines that he goes through.

  6. 'Wimbledon will always be the most special tournament'published at 19:49 British Summer Time

    Cobolli 7-6 (8-6) 2-6 5-7 4-6 Djokovic

Seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic, speaking after beating Flavio Cobolli on Centre Court: "First I have to say huge congratulations to Flavio for an amazing tournament and also a great battle today. I saw him play here and I knew he was playing well. He was serving at a really fast pace, going for his shots. He's such a talented and skilful player, definitely one of the guys we will be seeing more in the future so I wish him all the best and his team."

On his slip at the end: "It was a nasty slip and that's what happens when you play on the grass. You expect to fall with the way I move and slide on the grass. It came at an awkward moment but I managed to close it out. I will visit this subject with my physio and hopefully it will be fine in two days."

On reaching his 14th Wimbledon semi-final: "Wimbledon will always be the most special tournament we have in our sport, in my opinion and many other players' opinions. It means the world to me that at 38 I am able to play in the final stages of Wimbledon. Competing with youngsters makes me feel young, like Cobolli today. I enjoy running and sliding around the court. Speaking of the young guys, I will have [Jannik] Sinner in the next round so I look forward to that. That is going to be a great match-up."

  7. 'Djokovic will have to raise his levels'published at 19:46 British Summer Time

    Cobolli 7-6 (8-6) 2-6 5-7 4-6 Djokovic

    Tim Henman
Former British number one on BBC One

You only have to be better than one player on a given day and Novak Djokovic was a little bit better than Flavio Cobolli today, but I think when you analyse the performance Djokovic will know as well as anyone he's going to have to raise his levels.

When you go into a big semi-final that Djokovic has played on so many occasions, he is the type of player who really can turn it up and I think he needs to if he's going to come out on top against Jannik Sinner.

Novak Djokovic leads the applause for Flavio Cobolli as the Italian leaves the stage of his Wimbledon exit.

Cobolli played his part in a very watchable and close quarter-final. He might have sensed an upset when he took the first set on a tie-break, but Djokovic responded quickly to level the match and just found something in the most important moments in sets three and four.

    Cobolli 7-6 (8-6) 2-6 5-7 4-5 Djokovic*

Flavio Cobolli has saved the two match points with some powerful, powerful hitting... but more importantly, Novak Djokovic has taken an awkward looking fall near the baseline.

As he tried to change direction, his right leg gave way and he did the splits.

Cobolli was straight across to make sure his opponent is OK and it looks as though he is, after a slight breather to compose himself.

    Marion Bartoli
Former Wimbledon champion on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra and BBC Sounds

Novak Djokovic is way too professional and way too experienced to underestimate someone who is in a quarter-final of a Grand Slam.

I think he's feeling the tension and that creates sometimes muscle stiffness and he just wants to get rid of it because the main quality of his game is to stay very flexible on the court.
