Flavio Cobolli is absolutely loving this.

He said before the match that he wanted to enjoy every point and boy is he doing that right now.

He waves his arms to the crowd to encourage more noise from the crowd as he gets to deuce then has a big smile on his face as they begin to chant his name. Then he literally skips back to the baseline

He wanted the big court with the big atmosphere. And he's got it.

Briton Andy Lapthorne has lost his first round wheelchair quad singles match against Turkey's Ahmet Kaplan.

Lapthorne responded well to losing the opening set - taking the second in swift fashion - but ultimately came up short in his pursuit of a third Grand Slam singles title.

Elsewhere, Briton Cornelia Oosthuizen and Dutch partner Jinte Bos are currently in action against Chilean-Japanese pairing Macarena Cabrillana and Saki Takamuro in the women's wheelchair doubles.

Cabrillana and Takamuro lead 5-3 and are preparing to serve for the opening set.

World number one Jannik Sinner, speaking on court: "The feelings are very different, I’m very very happy with my performance, playing against him [Ben Shelton] is so difficult.

"You have chances and he serves very well as we saw in the last game but overall we play each other more and more we get to know each other a little bit better and I’m looking forward to these kind of battles.

"It’s even more special to play in front of you guys, it’s an honour and an amazing feeling."

On what he's changed over the past couple of years: "I remember the first time playing on Centre Court and the first time playing the semi-finals here and it’s very very special.

"I’m very much looking forward to it but when you’re young, one year it makes such a difference because you get more into the big stages and you get used to it and it feels so amazing.

"Wimbledon is the most special tournament throughout the calendar so being again here in the last four means a lot to me and hopefully it’s going to be a good match the next one, let’s see who I’m going to play against but I’m looking forward to it."

On his elbow injury: "When you’re in a match with a lot of tension you try to not think about it, it has improved a lot from yesterday to today. Yesterday my day was very short on the practice court, 20 minutes with the coaches.

"I’m looking forward to it now, there’s no excuse, there is no better stage to play tennis and I showed this today, the atmosphere helps me so much so thanks so much for the support."

Flavio Cobolli just has no answer to Novak Djokovic.

A couple of big serves can't be returned into the court. Djokovic holds to love.

    Cobolli 7-6 (8-6) 2-6 0-1 Djokovic*

    Marion Bartoli
Former Wimbledon champion on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra and BBC Sounds

Flavio Cobolli started missing from the back of the court and you can't start doing that.

It is so difficult to sustain the intensity when you are playing someone like Novak Djokovic on the Centre Court of Wimbledon who just doesn't let you breathe.

Cobolli is only 23 and he does not have a lot of experience at Grand Slams. It is all a learning curve. Let's see if he can have a better start to the third set.

    *Cobolli 7-6 (8-6) 2-6 0-0 Djokovic

Flavio Cobolli won just two of 18 points on Djokovic's serve in set two and the Italian leaves the court for a short break.

Djokovic is not quite all smiles in his seat, he remains focused but surely feeling happier about life after a dominant second-set display.

Nothing wrong with that elbow it would seem and nothing wrong with his game. He turned what might of been a five-star Wednesday afternoon matinee into something that was frankly commonplace, and that's what he does.

Well, on that evidence, Jannik Sinner's elbow doesn't look like a problem.

Certainly not in his game. And not as he shakes his strapped right arm in the air to celebrate victory.
