    *Sabalenka 3-6 5-2 Keys

Aryna Sabalenka looks much, much happier than half an hour or so ago, but she is still experiencing plenty of frustrating moments out on Rod Laver Arena.

A series of unforced errors gift Madison Keys a straightforward hold, and now it's over to the top seed to try and send this to a decider.

You wondered how Madison Keys was going to keep up her level.

There has been a bit less precision on her first serve in this second set and fewer winners flying off her racquet.

Sabalenka has improved but is still far from comfortable. The forehand she dumps long, and the subsequent dramatic racquet drop, indicates her displeasure.

Aryna Sabalenka comes through a third break point to hold as Madison Keys nets a return, just when it looked as though she had found a route back into this set.

Sabalenka has pulled Keys' level down and made her feel a little less comfortable.

She isn't giving her the balls that enable her to set-up and strike the way she was in the first set.

If we compare the Madison Keys that we are seeing now to the one that started the match, she looks a completely different player. She isn't controlling the baseline or thumping winners into the corners or playing with a lot of freedom.

Aryna Sabalenka is world number one for a reason.

The Belarusian sees off both break points, ticking off the second with an ace.

Her tennis might not be where she wants it to be but there is a different look about her. Madison Keys will be aware of that as well.

That was a huge first hold for Keys. It was so important to stay on top after the first set, but you can feel that it's not as easy and free-flowing as it was in the first set for her.

Sabalenka was in control on a couple of those points but obviously Keys got lucky from a really poor smash from Sabalenka.

Sabalenka didn't grab the opportunity there - and you need to in a final.

It just feels like it is a horror day for Aryna Sabalenka.

She played a much better point just now. It was well constructed, it was one of the few points where you felt like she was starting to get in control of things and then she missed the final finish!

  20. Break point Sabalenkapublished at 09:28 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    Sabalenka 3-6 0-0 Keys*

Aryna Sabalenka, you would expect, can only improve on that first set performance. But she's still not quite on it following that break and completely misjudges an overhead.

The world number one brushes that off impressively with back-to-back forehand winners. Break point!
