  1. Bye for now!published at 19:29 British Summer Time 11 July

Thank you so much for being with us for coverage of day 12 at Wimbledon - a day when Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner proved themselves to be the two dominant forces in men's tennis.

They'll meet in a Grand Slam final for a second time on Sunday, perhaps the second of many.

First, it's the women's final between Amanda Anisimova and Iga Swiatek on Saturday - hope you can join us again then.

Anisomova v Swiatek (Saturday, 16:00 BST)

Amanda Anisimova and Iga Swiatek will play in their first women's singles final at Wimbledon on Saturday.

For American 13th seed Anisimova, it's a first Grand Slam final of her career. Poland's eighth seed Swiatek has done it all before at this level, winning five of the sport's biggest prizes.

They are scheduled on Centre Court at 16:00 BST, with the men's doubles final taking place before then.

Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool - the first all-British duo to reach a Wimbledon men's doubles final since 1960 - take on Rinky Hijikata and David Pel from 13:00 BST.

  5. Changing of the guard?published at 19:22 British Summer Time 11 July

With the past six Grand Slams being split between Sunday's finalists, can it now be said that the end of the old guard has come and the 'Next Gen' are very much the new guard?

He's finally joined the crowd of older champions that realise the best is behind them and then they have to deal with that unfortunate fact. I don't know how much of it was an injury or accumulation of difficult matches but father time is undefeated. Honestly, it's been amazing he's got this far. Crazy. Phenomenal. Beyond belief.

  7. 'I've never seen Sinner move that well'published at 19:18 British Summer Time 11 July

Never have I seen Sinner move and cover the court so effectively. Not just the back court but the forecourt. To be able to come up and produce little lobs. It's not something you typically see from Sinner. He's got to be feeling really good.

We were watching a better version of Novak Djokovic playing himself. Doing the exact same things that made Novak get to that pantheon of the sport. When Sinner brings his A game there's no one that can beat him - other than Alcaraz. On the other hand if Alcaraz doesn't bring his A game Sinner will win every time. So it's going to be extremely interesting.

If we get anything like that final in Paris, we're in for a treat.

Also, it's great for Sinner to be back in a final against Alcaraz to try to extricate those demons of having three match points.

It's less than five weeks since Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner last met in a Grand Slam final - and it was one of the most dramatic matches in the history of the sport.

Alcaraz recovered from two sets down and saved three match points during a 4-6 6-7 (4-7) 6-4 7-6 (7-3) 7-6 (10-2) victory which lasted five hours and 29 minutes - making it the longest French Open final in history.

Well, 35 days on from that epic in Paris, they will meet again in the Wimbledon men's singles final.

Alcaraz ended up being the victor on the Paris clay, but who will triumph on the London grass?

  10. 'It shows I'm growing as a player'published at 19:09 British Summer Time 11 July

    Sinner 6-3 6-3 6-4 Djokovic

More from world number one Jannik Sinner, who has now reached a final at all four Grand Slams:

"It's amazing, it shows I'm growing as a player on all surfaces, which is important, trying to keep going and working. I struggled a lot five years ago when I started on this surface, I couldn't really move very well but now I'm moving much better.

"It's all part of the process, we are trying to work every day with a good purpose. It means a lot to achieve these kinds of things, but we try to keep going and have a smile on our face, which is more important on this journey."

On facing Carlos Alcaraz in Sunday's final:

"We saw the last final - you never know [what will happen]! It's a huge honour for me to share the court with Carlos. We try to push ourselves to the limit, he is one of the players I look up to and I love watching him.

"Hopefully it's going to be a good match like the last one, I don't know if it can be better because I don't think it's possible!

"But we will try to do our best, hopefully it will be an enjoyable match to play and for you all to enjoy."

World number one Jannik Sinner, speaking on Centre Court after beating Novak Djokovic in straight sets to reach the Wimbledon final:

"It's amazing, I can't believe it. It's a tournament I always watched when I was young and I would have never imagined I could play in the final.

"I know how much work me and my team are putting in, my dad and brother arrived today so it's even more special, and playing here in front of you guys is amazing."

On what it took to defeat Djokovic: "I served very well and was moving much better today. We all saw, especially in the third set, he was a bit injured. He's been in a difficult situation but I tried to stay calm, play the best tennis I can in the important moments, and let's see what's coming now in the final."

  12. 'Not sure it is possible'published at 19:00 British Summer Time 11 July

    Sinner 6-3 6-3 6-4 Djokovic

Jannik Sinner says he doesn't think it is "possible" to get a better match than the French Open final.

We will all be hoping for more of the same, though.

Novak will have a lot of thinking to do over the next month or so. Does he think it was because he was injured or is his body beat up?

It's the first time I've ever looked at him and thought 'I'm not sure he's coming back'. I don't know if he can accept being a notch or two below these guys.

One more big serve from Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic can only just get it back into play and it leaves the world number one with an open court to seal his place in Sunday's final.

It will be the first time the Italian has reached the final at SW19 and it will be a mouthwatering prospect as he faces second seed Carlos Alcaraz.
