These two fellas are well accustomed to the business end of Grand Slam tennis - and playing each other when it matters the most.

This is the second consecutive major where they have met, of course, with Zverev going through to the Australian Open final when Djokovic retired injured after losing the first set.

Djokovic has reached the Roland Garros quarter-finals or better every year since 2010, while Zverev is aiming to become the only man to reach the last four in each of the past four years.

  12. 'Semi-finals in Grand Slams are very special, I'm looking forward to it'published at 17:24 British Summer Time 4 June

    Sinner 6-1 7-5 6-0 Bublik

Speaking about his ability to hit winners and record minimal unforced errors, Jannik Sinner said: "We work a lot on me having good balance with my body. When you play against top players, you have to be very consistent. If you make a lot of mistakes it's already a game where, if we both serve very well, there are not so many rallies. That's why I try to get rhythm with the rallies.

"I never really change the tension of my racquet because I feel like I have a good feel of it, so I never want to mess around with that too much. There are players that will always change it, so that shows everyone is different.

"I'm very happy with how I've arrived in the semi-finals [this year]. The semi-finals in Grand Slams are very special, I'm looking forward to it."

On whether he will watch the last quarter-final tonight: "We will watch a little bit of it for sure. As always, I will also try to switch my brain off because Grand Slams are always mentally tough.

"Two weeks for an event is very long, so I will probably just try to go for dinner, relax and recover. It's going to be a great semi-final match, so hopefully I will be ready. We all hope for a high-quality match."

  14. 'I just needed to stay consistent throughout'published at 17:19 British Summer Time 4 June

    Sinner 6-1 7-5 6-0 Bublik

World number one Jannik Sinner speaking on Court Philippe-Chatrier after sealing his semi-final spot: "We have played each other a couple of times already, so we already knew what to expect a little bit. But, in other aspects, you never know how he [Alexander Bublik] is going to play.

"I feel like he deserved to be in this quarter-final, he has played some very tough players. I just tried to focus on my side of the court. I was trying to play as solid as possible because he can have some slight ups and downs, so I just needed to stay consistent throughout the whole match.

"I wanted to serve well in the important moments, which I did, so it was a good performance from my side. It's also a bit windy and breezy so things can become a bit more complicated. I warmed up with the roof closed because it was raining but then the some came out, so lots of challenges today.

"I'm very happy with the result. As always, thank you so much for the support and for staying. It is a great atmosphere."
