Manchester isn't the only place to see some Davis Cup tennis today with matches also being played in Valencia, Bologna and Split.

Spain's Bernabe Zapata Miralles is currently trailing Czech player Tomas Machac by a set to love after being broken in the first game of the opener.

Italian world number 38 Lorenzo Sonego was in control against Canadian Alexis Galarneau, breaking in the eighth game, but the world number 200 has just broken back to make things interesting.

Croatian Dino Prizmic has just saved set points against the USA's Mackenzie McDonald after Prizmic broke back in the fourth game having lost his serve in the opening game. Momentum remains with McDonald after he broke again in the fifth game as he will now serve out for the first set.

One of the fun things about the Davis Cup is seeing the camaraderie between the players.

Usually they are lone rangers on the tour, working within their teams and there is not always the opportunity to hang out with their compatriots.

Dan Evans was out on the British bench early doors to support Draper, heading off inside after the first set to continue his prep for the second singles match.

Cameron Norrie, who is not involved at all today, also cheered on Draper. Not spotted Andy Murray or Neal Skupski courtside yet.

Also, it is good to see Kyle Edmund down there. The former British number one has been plagued by knee trouble in recent years but has been with the team and acting as a practice partner in Manchester.

Jack Draper is very much the future of British men's tennis - and he's starting to show the Manchester crowd why.

While he's had his fitness concerns, his talent has never been in doubt.

Draper has grown into this match, continued to serve superbly and sussing out Kokkinakis to improve his returning.

The AO Arena in Manchester has seen some great nights of boxing over the years, and during all of the recent ones, Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond would have been ringing out very loudly among the fans.

Different sport today, same song, same noisy singing. Will it be 'so good, so good' for Great Britain? Into a deciding set we go.

Lleyton [Hewitt] knows how important it is for his man to stick around in this second set. Although, he's still down a break.

Draper has moved up a gear in this second set. There's much more intent. His forehand has more speed and he's looking really confident.

An excellent two-handed backhand shot from Draper, not the first time I've said that today, leaves Kokkinakis puffing out his cheeks in despair, but that turns out to be the only point the Briton takes as the Australian holds to 15.
