“It's always one of my favourite places in the world," Keys told the BBC. "This is like the pinnacle of tennis. It's always an amazing experience to play here.

"The crowd is one of my favourite crowds to play in front of especially on the outside courts especially as there's so much energy, the fans are such tennis fans. I have always loved playing here and even with champagne corks flying I think it's one of the best places in the world to play."

Keys faces Ukrainian 18th seed Marta Kostyuk for a place in round four.

A double fault from Draper leaves us at deuce, but a lovely drop shot puts him back in charge. A serve out wide can only then be pushed into the bottom of the net by Norrie and it's 4-4.

One bad game from either man now could cost them the set.

  16. 'Don't know if I had champion's mentality' - Djokovicpublished at 17:00 British Summer Time 4 July

    Fearnley 3-6 4-6 7-5 5-7 Djokovic

More from Novak Djokovic, on dealing with the challenge of Jacob Fearnley:

"I don’t know if I really had a champion's mentality today. I was not really comfortable in my own skin, particularly in the third and fourth sets but sometimes you have rough days where you’re not feeling your best and of course it also depends on the opponent across the net.

"Today, Jacob I thought played on a high level and he made me earn this victory so all in all, it was a win at the end of the day and I’ll take it. Hopefully I can play even better in the next round."

    On how he felt physically:

"Honestly I was feeling ok. I was feeling alright. I don’t want to be looking for any excuses for my performance today. Again, credit to Jacob. On my side, I should have done some things better when I was a break up in the third. As I said, very swirly, very challenging conditions on the court.

"I think physically I felt well. Can I be playing better and moving better? Yes, absolutely, so I’m hoping that as the tournament progresses, I’ll be feeling a bit better."

The second match on Centre Court will be Polish world number one Iga Swiatek going up against Croatian Petra Martic.

Wimbledon is a Grand Slam which has evaded Swiatek so far, with her best result at the All England Club coming last year when she reached the quarter-finals.

Swiatek could be a bit rusty on grass as she withdrew from the Ladies Open in Berlin in June, citing a need to "rest and recover" after becoming the youngest woman to win three consecutive Roland Garros singles titles.

Martic, ranked 85th, has reached the fourth round of Wimbledon on three previous occasions.

  20. Fearnley 'made me work' - Djokovicpublished at 16:56 British Summer Time 4 July

    Fearnley 3-6 4-6 7-5 5-7 Djokovic

Novak Djokovic on his second round victory over Britain's Jacob Fearnley:

"First and foremost, huge congrats to Jacob Fearnley for an amazing match today. He put in a great effort and played very good tennis.

"I didn't have a chance to see him play. Actually two days ago, I saw him for the first time. Obviously there’s always an element of surprise and nothing to lose, him playing in Wimbledon, always going to be tough.

"Most of the British players grow up being exposed to grass courts, quick surfaces, so they know exactly how to play. [It's a] very windy day, very challenging conditions and I thought he served very well.

"It was very difficult to break his serve. He made me work definitely. I was probably a bit lucky in the fourth to not go a break down.

"Maybe I could have won the match in three but I think all in all, this match potentially deserved to get into a fifth the way we both played, the way Fearnley played particularly in the fourth, but I’m very glad it didn’t."
