  2. Tjen holdspublished at 17:06 British Summer Time 27 August

    *Raducanu 6-2 5-1 Tjen

It's hard not to get excited seeing Raducanu playing so well again in New York.

Tjen produces a couple of good winners to get a game on the board and prevent a second-set bagel.

  3. Svajda's got a 'cool head on his shoulders'published at 17:05 British Summer Time 27 August

    *Djokovic 2-3 Svajda

Svajda plays a very pleasing classic game off the ground. He's incredibly sweet off both wings, the forehand and the backhand, and for his age, he's still in his early 20s, he's got a very cool head on his shoulders.

He's got lot of his experience on the ATP challenger tour to date. You wouldn't expect him to be a deer in the headlights, even against a 24-time Grand Slam champion.

  4. 'Raducanu is making this look easy, but it isn't'published at 17:03 British Summer Time 27 August

GB Davis Cup captain on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra and BBC Sounds

This is tough for Janice Tjen. She played Veronika Kudermetova in the previous round, which was a big step up from what she had been doing previously as well, but she came through that.

That just highlights how well Emma Raducanu is playing right now. She is making this look easy, but it isn't.

  5. Raducanu holdspublished at 17:02 British Summer Time 27 August

    Raducanu 6-2 5-0 Tjen*

Raducanu continues to chug along with some sublime serving.

She is making her first serve 76% of the time and 84% of the points behind her first serve.

A hold to love and she's in touching distance of the third round. Highly impressive.

  6. Svajda holdspublished at 17:02 British Summer Time 27 August

    *Djokovic 2-3 Svajda

It's been a good start by Zachary Svajda, who has looked comfortable since saving those two break points in the opening game of the match.

  7. Raducanu gets double breakpublished at 17:00 British Summer Time 27 August

    *Raducanu 6-2 4-0 Tjen

Wow. Relentless stuff from Raducanu and she takes the double break with a heck of a crosscourt winner.

There's not much sign of any issues during the points but she will certainly want this over with soon.

  8. Djokovic holdspublished at 17:00 British Summer Time 27 August

    Djokovic 2-2 Svajda*

In his only previous second-round appearance at the US Open in 2021, Zachary Svajda took a set off Jannik Sinner in a four-set defeat by the Italian. Sinner was not quite the force then that he is now, but still a notable achievement.

So far, he has been unable to make any inroads into the Novak Djokovic serve. Another hold to love for the veteran Serb.

Raducanu looks a bit stiff as she takes her seat at the change of ends.

She also taps the base of her back during some dialogue with her team.

One thing is for sure, the Brit will want to get this done ASAP.

  12. 'Raducanu zoning in and playing excellently'published at 16:55 British Summer Time 27 August

    *Raducanu 6-2 2-0 Tjen

    Leon Smith
GB Davis Cup captain on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra and BBC Sounds

Emma Raducanu is zoning in and playing excellently right now - so far so good.

Everything from her serve to her returns has been spot on. That's the crux of any tennis player's game and she has been absolutely bang on.

When there has been any kind of open rally, she has made sure to dictate the play with much better court positioning and she isn't being put off-balance so often.

Telly cameras showed Raducanu adjusting her shoe/socks during that moment in the corner of the court.

Hopefully it was just a wardrobe issue and not a medical one.

A moment of concern there for Emma Raducanu as she took a moment in the corner of the court.

Then she stretches out her back. Hopefully it is nothing too concerning.

The eyes of Jerome Poupel, the colourful chiropractor who has joined her team, particularly widen.

Poupel has previously worked with ex-Formula 1 driver David Coulthard and racing legend AP McCoy, as well as treating horses...
