You won’t be surprised to learn the Argentines are back in a boisterous mood.

Re-gripping his racquet might be his way of a cathartic release.

Comesana is showing signs of life in this match has enthused the Argentine fans dotted around a packed outside court.

At either side adjacent to the baseline, there are two groups of particularly vocal lads.

Terrace-style chants, and that familiar hand-under-the-chin gesture, are being busted out by those wearing football jerseys including La Albiceleste, as well as club sides Boca Juniors and River Plate.

Norrie breaking back has quietened them down.

And that work done by Norrie is a bit of a reminder of the work that Comesana was doing at the back end of the second set. He didn't win it, but it actually gave him the platform to start really strongly in this third and actually give himself a fighting chance in this match.

When you go to two sets to love, everything's going well for you, you don't really need to change too much, it's your opponent who has to change and come up with a new game plan. It probably takes a little bit of time to figure out what that game plan might become.

There's a big shock on Court 17, where 12th seed and 2022 US Open runner-up Casper Ruud loses in five sets against Belgium's Raphael Collignon.

Ruud, who reached the final of the mixed doubles with Iga Swiatek at Flushing Meadows last week, was two sets to one up but 23-year-old Collignon, playing in his first Grand Slam main draw, has fought back to win 6-4 3-6 3-6 6-4 7-5.

World number 107 Collignon squandered his first two match points with double faults but held his nerve on the third for the biggest win of his career.

Defeat completes a miserable year of Grand Slams for Ruud, who also lost in the second round at both the Australian and French Opens, and missed Wimbledon with a knee injury.

Cameron Norrie can be doing all the right things but if Francisco Comesana gets his feet back under him, it can very quickly look like an entirely different match.

He's just put a racquet in to go to the stringers which, in theory, takes 25-30 minutes. He thinks that there's potential, that there's lots more tennis in this match, and it's the reason why he's doing it.

His tail is up. He was out there hitting winners at the end. If he can just find a way to get a couple of service games under his belt, get that confidence back and hold his serve, then he can believe that he can get right back into the match.

Norrie is still in control, but he just needs to make sure he doesn't let this run away too quickly.
