There was a good few seconds there where I had to hold my breath! I wasn't 100% sure whether Cameron Norrie had made that shot, especially because he didn't really react. He was really calm about the whole situation, like he knew exactly what had happened.

Well done to him for coming through that set. He has found himself playing some good tennis in that tie-break.

All square on Louis Armstrong Stadium and you can't say that's not deserved for Taylor Fritz.

The American fourth seed, who lost last year's final to Jannik Sinner, had five break-point opportunities in the second set and lost only eight of the 35 points played on his own serve.

Francisco Comesana's supporters raise their voices just before we get started again and it energises their compatriot.

He serves ANOTHER ace in the tie-break.

Cameron Norrie remains solid on his serve though and returns with a fifth ace of this match.

It gives him two goes at Comesana's serve and after failing to take the first opportunity, he grabs the second for set point.

He then just lands a winner to take the first set by the narrowest of margins.

    And breathe...

  5. Tie-breakpublished at 19:58 British Summer Time

    Norrie 6-6 (3-3) Comesana*

A thunderous serve from Cameron Norrie sees him start the tie-break with an ace.

Francisco Comesana hits an ace of his own though and sees him defend his serve.

The Briton shows even more confidence though and adds another ace to the tie-break to avoid a mini-break.

All level as they change ends.

  6. Postpublished at 19:56 British Summer Time

    Harris 6-4 6-6 (0-0) Fritz*

A great moment on Louis Armstrong Stadium as Taylor Fritz shanks a forehand a mile into the air and one of the ball crew at the other end of the court takes a wonderful catch with two other tennis balls in his hands!

Safest hands I've seen since Mark Waugh in the Australia slip cordon.

On the court, last year's runner-up Fritz lost the first set to South Africa's Lloyd Harris - who knocked Britain's Dan Evans out of qualifying - and they're into a tie-break in set two.

  7. Tie-breakpublished at 19:54 British Summer Time

It's a hold to love for him and we are going the distance in the first set.

Norrie's playing well. He's hitting the ball nice and cleanly. There was a couple of mishits at the start of the match, but so far in this game, he's really found his range, really found his rhythm, executing the game plan of finding the backhand side of Comesana and then using the short balls to put them away.

    Brilliant from Cameron Norrie.

A strong forehand sees him hold to love and ensures he'll at least get a look at a tie-break in this one.

  10. Comesana holdspublished at 19:49 British Summer Time

    *Norrie 5-5 Comesana

Francisco Comesana is showing inconsistency with his serve.

A double fault is followed by an ace before the pair trade a point each - including on a 21-shot rally.

Comesana then relies again on his second serve to nudge him ahead and Norrie is unable to force deuce.

The Argentine's followers in the crowd have found their voices.

He shows perfect timing to execute a backhand passing shot across the court to get himself to 15-30.

Francisco Comesana wins back-to-back points but hits a fourth double fault to bring the game to deuce.

Norrie misses a drop shot though and it's another hold.

  14. 'Norrie isn't going to panic'published at 19:34 British Summer Time

    Norrie 4-3 Comesana*

    Ken Skupski
Former British player on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra and BBC Sounds

It's the early stages of the match, both obviously not playing each other before and just working each other out. But Norrie is not going to panic here. He's just going to go about his business.

I actually think the court surface and the conditions should suit him. I do feel like the courts are playing fairly quick and as it gets hotter in the week, it's going to get even faster. So it should play into Norrie's hand, especially using his left to serve.

  15. Norrie holdspublished at 19:33 British Summer Time

    Norrie 4-3 Comesana*

Two break points go begging for Francisco Comesana.

Cameron Norrie gets himself back to deuce after a sloppy start to his service game and a perfectly placed forehand nudges him ahead in this first set.

  16. Norrie breakspublished at 19:28 British Summer Time

    *Norrie 3-3 Comesana

Francisco Comesana begins his service game with a double fault.

Sensing a chance, Cameron Norrie secures three break points at 0-40.

The Argentine shows bravery to save all three but Norrie responds to win the game from deuce and break back.

Novak Djokovic, speaking on court after his four-set win over Zachary Svajda in the second round:

"I didn't feel that great to be honest. I wasn't happy with my tennis for the first part of the match, but also credit to Zach for playing some really high-quality tennis.

"It was unfortunate that he struggled with injury towards the end of the second set, but kudos to him for staying on the court. It was obvious he couldn't serve as well as he did for a set and a half.

"I wished him all the best at the net because I think he's playing really well."

Asked how much more rhythm he finds going deeper in big tournaments: "That's what I'm hoping [for], that was the case for most of my Grand Slam career. The deeper I go in the tournament, the better I feel about my game.

"It's obviously a little different in the past couple of years for me body-wise, I get wear and tear quicker than I ever used to so I have to deal with that, a lot of recovery stuff to try to make myself able to perform at the highest level."

  18. Djokovic 'not that great' but throughpublished at 19:24 British Summer Time

    Djokovic 6-7 (5-7) 6-3 6-3 6-2 Svajda

Novak Djokovic is asked in the post-match interview how he felt out on court - "Not that great to be honest," he replies. "I wasn't happy about my tennis for the first part of the match."

But the 38-year-old has reached the third round of a Grand Slam for the 75th time, which is an outright record.

It's been a good tournament too for world number 145 Zachary Svajda, who was clearly struggling physically in the latter stages of the match but the qualifier put up a real fight against Djokovic.

  19. Norrie holdspublished at 19:21 British Summer Time

    Norrie 2-3 Comesana*

That will make Cameron Norrie feel a little better.

It's a hold to love to keep him in the first set.

  20. Comesana holdspublished at 19:19 British Summer Time

    *Norrie 1-3 Comesana

Francisco Comesana is looking composed out there.

It's a simple hold of serve to follow the break and Cameron Norrie is under a little bit of early pressure here.
