That's much better from Djokovic and just what he needed. A stress-free, routine hold to love.

The last thing Alcaraz wants is the 37-year-old to start building some momentum.

Djokovic is now enjoying his best set of the match, having only won two games in each of the opening two sets.

Novak Djokovic, rather amazingly, has only had just one break point all match, he didn't take it. And there's no joy for him in that game as Alcaraz holds again.

Will the rest of Centre Court get behind him or do they want an early finish to get home for the Euros final?

Only a fool would write off Novak, but right now he needs to seriously up his game and hope Carlos levels drop, which I can't see happening.

  10. Djokovic saves four break points to holdpublished at 15:47 British Summer Time 14 July

    *Alcaraz 6-2 6-2 1-2 Djokovic

Every fightback has to start somewhere and is this the match-changing moment?

Novak Djokovic roars out loudly after saving four break points to somehow cling on to his serve.

Great fight from the 24-time Grand Slam champion.

Three break points have now been saved by Djokovic. The Serb saved five in the very first game of the afternoon. This is an equally epic game, one the crowd are fully on board.

Alcaraz then gets a bit of luck as the ball zips up off the net and springs up over the Djokovic shoulder when he was well positioned to send away the winner.

Everything is going against the seven-time Wimbledon champion at the moment.

Hope Alcaraz just wins in straight sets, it’s rare to see a Djokovic defeat of this margin and I’m fully loving it.

Credit where it's due. Djokovic hasn't had much success at the net today but that was a volley winner.

"Hollywood tennis," is another shout as Alcaraz looks beaten, but pulls out a trick shot with the racquet behind the back, but Djokovic still wins the point to save the break point.

Another one comes and goes too, that's two in this game. Djokovic once more on the ropes.

The crowd absolutely loved that piece of showmanship from Alcaraz though. One for the highlights reel and one to try yourself next time you find yourself on a tennis court. Deuce.

"Come on Novak" is the loud shout not too far from where I'm typing this, but the shout of encouragement doesn't have the desired impact as the Serb comes up short with a drop shot. Alcaraz break point at 30-40.

They definitely want more than three sets.

Djokovic's hope is that Alcaraz beats himself in terms of a few unforced errors to allow him back in.

  20. Good hold from Alcarazpublished at 15:36 British Summer Time 14 July

    Alcaraz 6-2 6-2 1-1 Djokovic*

A great hold from Carlos Alcaraz, recovering from 0-30 and in a bit of bother, but the Spaniard took it to deuce and then landed one perfectly on the line, chalk flying up and everything, to seal the game.
