Summary

  1. Murray disappointed by Raducanu withdrawalpublished at 15:26 British Summer Time 6 July

Andy Murray is said to be disappointed he won't be playing in the mixed doubles with Emma Raducanu.

For those wondering if he can play with someone else, that’s unfortunately not possible as the draw had been done, so if one member of a pairing pulls out, they are both out and they get replaced in the draw.

Murray and Raducanu have been replaced by American duo Rajeev Ram and Katie Volynets.

  2. Norrie holdspublished at 15:26 British Summer Time 6 July

    Norrie 4-6 4-6 3-2 Zverev*

Norrie has never managed to beat Zverev in their previous five meetings. He might have hoped for a bit of a sniff today given Zverev's record at Wimbledon being the worst of all the majors.

But the German has had too much for him so far.

He does manage to take the hold. He seals it when Zverev's audacious round-the-net-post shot is in fact long.

  3. 'Only Zverev knows how hindered he is'published at 15:23 British Summer Time 6 July

It’s been impressive from Zverev but how hindered is he. It doesn’t seem like much but only he knows.

    Norrie 4-6 4-6 2-1 Zverev*

Zverev's cross-court backhand slams into the net but then he produces yet another ace to recover. It's got to be pretty demoralising just having these serves whizz past you ever other point.

  7. 'Wang needs to start making the most of her chances'published at 15:21 British Summer Time 6 July

    Dart 6-2 3-2 Wang*

    Johanna Konta
Former British number one on BBC TV

Wang Xinyu has got a tiny opening for the first time.

She needs to start tightening up her game and making the most of these chances because Harriet Dart is doing a good job at not giving her many.

  8. Wang breaks backpublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 6 July

    Dart 6-2 3-2 Wang*

As quickly as Harriet Dart had the break, it's gone.

An impressive game from China's Wang Xinyu. There was moment intent and she was clinical when she got herself up in the game.

Back on serve in the second.

  9. Shapovalov frustratedpublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Shapovalov 7-6 (7-4) 2-6 4-6 4-4 Shelton

Frustration beginning to show for Denis Shapovalov now as a break point slips through his fingers.

He says something to his team while smacking the strings of his racquet.

  11. Norrie holdspublished at 15:19 British Summer Time 6 July

    Norrie 4-6 4-6 2-1 Zverev*

Norrie pushes his backhand into the net for 15-30 but takes the next couple of points with big serves to move to game point.

Zverev's return is long and Norrie keeps in touch. We remain on serve.

  12. Zverev holdspublished at 15:17 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Norrie 4-6 4-6 1-1 Zverev

It's just not looking good for Norrie right now. He's lucky if he manages to return one of these serves never mind take a couple of points from it.

Another hold to love for Zverev.

  13. Dart breakspublished at 15:17 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Dart 6-2 3-1 Wang

    Superb from Harriet Dart.

A lovely return dips late on Wang Xinyu as she advances and Dart hammers a backhand past the world number 42 for a winner.

Wang goes long to give Dart two break points and, on the second of them, drags a backhand wide.

The Brit has the break in the second set.

    Dart 6-2 2-1 Wang*

    Johanna Konta
Former British number one on BBC TV

We have seen good things from Wang Xinyu but it has just been too sporadic to make any real inroads in this match against Harriet Dart who has just been more consistent in making balls and in playing good tennis.

  15. 'Is there a Plan B for Norrie?'published at 15:17 British Summer Time 6 July

    Norrie 4-6 4-6 1-0 Zverev*

    Tim Henman
Former British number one on BBC TV

I think one of the challenges for Norrie is he’s two sets to love down. Is there a Plan B because he’s a little bit limited.

It’s more about doing Plan A better.

  16. Norrie holdspublished at 15:14 British Summer Time 6 July

    Norrie 4-6 4-6 1-0 Zverev*

Huge ace from Norrie to take an important hold to 15.

He needed that and must now try to put some pressure on Zverev's massive serve.

  17. Dart holdspublished at 15:14 British Summer Time 6 July

    Dart 6-2 2-1 Wang*

Another hold for Harriet Dart as it stays on serve in the second set.

The Brit double-faulted to give Wang Xinyu a bit of hope at 40-30 but that was soon dashed by Dart.

More sweet ball-striking to seal the hold.

  18. Postpublished at 15:13 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Norrie 4-6 4-6 0-0 Zverev

    Now or never for Norrie.

He's going to have to find some sort of solution here. Trailing by two sets it's a long way back.

  19. Postpublished at 15:11 British Summer Time 6 July

    Shapovalov 7-6 (7-4) 2-6 4-6 3-3 Shelton*

    Charlotte Coates

Ben Shelton’s American friends are really into this match.

Almost every point won by the 14th seed is cheered enthusiastically as they push their friend towards the last 16.

  20. Postpublished at 15:11 British Summer Time 6 July

    *Norrie 4-6 4-6 0-0 Zverev

Zverev has got the physio back out on court before the third set.

He's clearly struggling but feels able to carry on. Based on the last few games, I'd say he is too.
