It’s a gloomy day at SW19 and this is the last thing we all wanted to see.

The covers are on but spirits are still high with plenty of play to come on Centre Court and Court One.

  5. 'Raducanu's level of tennis is causing excitement'published at 11:36 British Summer Time 6 July

    Naomi Broady
    British player on BBC TV

Emma Raducanu is a brilliant front-runner in a match, when she gets off to a quick start, she is very dangerous.

It was the level of tennis that was causing so much excitement with her. She's got a bit of a spring in her step. There's a massive smile on her face. There is just a bit more enjoyment around the tennis. She is going out there and playing freely.

We haven't seen anyone play this level of tennis so far in the tournament.

That is just the tip of the iceberg on a very hectic day at SW19.

Seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic closes the programme on Centre against Alexei Popyrin.

Ons Jabeur returns to Centre Court for the first time since last year's final to take on Elina Svitolina, the 21st seed from Ukraine, who also charmed the Wimbledon crowds last year with a run to the last four.

World number one Iga Swiatek faces Kazakhstan's Yulia Putintseva on Court One, followed by a contest between 2022 champion Elena Rybakina and Danish wildcard Caroline Wozniacki.

There are also three men's singles matches that need to be completed on Saturday after rain wreaked havoc with Friday's schedule.

  7. Busy day aheadpublished at 11:23 British Summer Time 6 July

Rain or no rain, later on we will see the superstar British doubles pairing of Andy Murray and Emma Raducanu in action for the first - and possibly last - time.

They begin their mixed doubles campaign against China's Zhang Shuai and El Salvador's Marcelo Arevalo but we've got a bit of wait before that one.

Murra-canu are scheduled as the fourth and final match of the day on Court One...

But after yesterday's rain, there is due to be plenty of action before that one and the first British interest should already have started.

Harriet Dart saw off British number one Katie Boulter in round two and, once the rain stops, she will continue her bid to make it to the second week for the time as she faces Wang Xinyu of China on court two.

Winner of another all-British contest in round two, Cameron Norrie, is kicking things off on Centre Court from 13:30 BST.

He faces a very tricky match against fourth seed Alexander Zverev but having made the semi-finals a couple of years ago, Norrie will hope home advantage helps take him another step closer to a repeat...

  8. Auger-Aliassime on a runpublished at 11:17 British Summer Time 6 July

Bit of a strange walk into the All England Club this morning as I was minding my own business listening to a bit of music and 17th seed Felix Auger-Aliassime came surging past me on a run.

The Canadian, who was beaten in the first round, had a large smile on his face as plenty of people had a rather confused look on their face.

  9. No play before 12:00 BSTpublished at 11:11 British Summer Time 6 July

Before we go any further, some bad news.

Rain wiped out so much play in the outside courts yesterday... and it is back again.

Covers are on and we won't have any play until midday at the earliest.

And it had looked so promising half an hour ago.

  10. De Minaur handed walkover to fourth roundpublished at 11:07 British Summer Time 6 July

We've already got our first winner on day six and that's before play has even started.

Alex de Minaur is into the fourth round of Wimbledon.

The Australian ninth seed was due to face Lucas Pouille in the last match on court three today, but the Frenchman has withdrawn.

De Minaur will play either Arthur Fils of France or Russian Roman Safiullin next.
