Elina Svitolina speaking on Centre Court after her victory over Ons Jabeur:

"Really tight second set, I was trying to stay focused and a big relief to win the tie-break. Tie-break is always a bit of a lottery.

"Not easy to play against such a champion like Ons [Jabeur], she's had two finals here and always very tricky to play on the grass. Important to play one point at a time and I played great tennis here. Really relieved and happy with my performance."

On husband Gael Monfils watching on: "Today was a bit of a different story for our family. Disappointing that Gael lost yesterday and I was a bit inspired by Grigor's [Dimitrov] performance yesterday [Dimitrov beat Monfils in straight sets]. With Gael's support today it's amazing to have him support me and be there for me, it's very special."

Yulia Putintseva has got a little Nadal-esque routine going on with her water bottles.

The Kazakh takes her time setting them up side-by-side and making sure they're just to her liking.

Everyone is watching to see if there’s going to be a circuit breaker for Iga.

At the moment it is all happening so quickly, there needs to be a way she can wrestle back momentum – otherwise she’ll run out of time.

You wonder if Iga Swiatek is already thinking about a return to her beloved clay courts.

Grass has never been the top seed's preferred surface and she'll be a firm favourite for the gold medal when Roland Garros hosts tennis at the Olympics next month.

Yulia Putintseva had never made it past the second round at Wimbledon. Now she's two games away from the last 16.

    Jabeur 1-6 6-7 (4-7) Svitolina

Elina Svitolina brings up three match points when Ons Jabeur sends her forehand long. She misses the first opportunity but gets the job done on the second time of asking when Jabeur again sends her forehand long.

The Tunisian was not at her best today and it's taken just one hour and 20 minutes for the Ukrainian 21st seed to capitalise on it.

She looks really disappointed as she walks off court.

    *Swiatek 6-3 1-6 0-4 Putintseva

Swiatek cushions a return back over the net and Putintseva is able to watch it come back down before volleying away to the corner. 40-15.

And she takes the game at the next time of asking.

Putintseva has won nine games in a row and is on track for the biggest win of her career.

  11. 'Putintseva's attitude has been above and beyond'published at 18:01 British Summer Time 6 July

I am not sure anyone would have predicted this but absolute credit to Putintseva, her attitude has gone above and beyond and she’s putting the world number one under the pump.

She’s really been the more assertive.

Swiatek executes a volley while backtracking to level at 15-15. Top quality moments like that have been few and far between from the world number one today.

Putintseva takes the next two points and have two chances to break.

    She takes it again!!!

The top seed is firmly on the ropes.

    Martina Navratilova

Ons Jabeur is facing a completely different, much better opponent than what she has faced so far.

The pace of the shot from Elina Svitolina has been really impressive.

  14. Tie-breakpublished at 17:59 British Summer Time 6 July

    Jabeur 1-6 6-6 (1-4) Svitolina*

Dominant stuff from Elina Svitolina and Ons Jabeur is just looking pretty dejected. Her head seems to have gone down quite a bit throughout this match and she's struggling here.

She slips over and slips to 4-1 behind.

Jabeur has made 21 unforced errors on the forehand. It's untidy work from the Tunisian and it's surprising.

Brilliant from Svitolina to take advantage of what seems to be an off day for the 10th seed.

  15. game, set and match

Broom and Fery through in men's doublespublished at 17:56 British Summer Time 6 July

    Borges/ Rinderknech 4-6 4-6 Broom/ Fery

In between rain delays on court 17, British pair Charles Broom and Arthur Fery completed a straight-set win to begin their men's doubles campaign.

The match began yesterday and the Brits were a set to the good when the rain set in. But they returned to finish the job this afternoon as they beat Portugal's Nuno Borges and Arthur Rinderknech 6-4 6-4.

Up next for Broom, 26, and Fery, 21, are seventh seeds Wesley Koolhof of the Netherlands, who won the men's doubles alongside Britain's Neal Skupski last year, and Croatia's Nikola Mektic.

    Putintseva is oozing confidence now.

Another fist pump as she takes the first point.

Everything Putintseva attempts is coming off here. She is producing her best tennis as she digs out a forehand from the corner and Swiatek returns to the net.

And it's a hold for the world number 35.
