Nathan Cleverly 'reinvigorated' at cruiserweight for Tony Bellew

Former world light-heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly says he feels "reinvigorated" after moving up to cruiserweight level.

Cleverly lost his WBO light-heavyweight title to Sergey Kovalev in August 2013 and considered retirement after his first professional defeat.

The 27-year-old is unbeaten as a cruiserweight and will face rival Tony Bellew in Liverpool on 22 November,

"I feel physically and mentally better," Cleverly said.

"I've made a few changes since the Kovalev fight that's reinvigorated me, freshened me up.

"I've done it properly. I've come into the cruiserweight division properly, I haven't rushed. I feel in a great place at the moment."

Cleverly opted to carry on following his defeat to Kovalev and as well as moving up to cruiserweight also changed his trainer and promoter.

The Welshman defeated Shawn Corbin on his cruiserweight debut to win the WBA Inter-Continental title, which he retained with victory over Alejandro Emilio Valori in July.

Bellew followed Cleverly into the division after losing to Canada's Adonis Stevenson in a WBC light-heavyweight title fight in 2013.

The 31-year-old beat Julio Cesar Dos Santos to set up the fight with Cleverly on 22 November at Liverpool's Echo Arena.

Cleverly is relishing the rematch against his bitter rival, whom he beat to retain his WBO light-heavyweight title in 2011.

"I like being involved in these big fights," Cleverly added.

"It's not only the actual physical aspect of the fight and being involved in tough fights, it's the build-up, it's the hype around the fight, the adrenaline.

"It's something you don't get from just a normal fight. It does get the fire burning."
