A bus shelter is set to be installed in Cobo this week as part of wider improvements to bus travel, the States of Guernsey has announced.

This build is part of the On-Island Integrated Transport Strategy, which aims to increase the number of journeys made by alternative forms of transport including the bus service.

The States said a shelter at this location was prioritised due to the high numbers of passengers that use the stop.

As well as the shelter, dropped kerbs are due to be created on both sides of the road next to the new shelter to improve accessibility.

Colin Le Page, strategy and policy manager for Traffic and Highway Services, said: "This is just one small part of our ongoing efforts to make bus travel a more appealing and accessible transport option, providing seating for waiting passengers and offering protection for users during wet and windy weather."
