A fresh series of footpath closures has been announced as work continues on a Grimsby bridge

The Corporation Road Bridge has been closed to traffic since February 2023 for a £5m restoration.

A control room is being refurbished and new roof and wall panels are being installed, along with new glazing.

Footpaths will be closed on seven dates during August for public safety.

The footway closures will take place between 09:00 and 16:00 BST on the following dates:

  • Thursday 1 August

  • Wednesday 7 August

  • Thursday 8 August

  • Wednesday 14 August

  • Wednesday 21 August

  • Thursday 22 August

  • Wednesday 28 August

The bridge opened in 1925 and is a main route into Grimsby town centre. It had been hoped that the work would be completed by December last year, but the structure was found to be in a worse state than expected.

The council has thanked people for their patience.
