A 17-year-old who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been released after a man's death was found to be accidental, police said.
The 42-year-old died in hospital on 21 October, the day after he was found with head injuries inside a property on Hook Road in Goole.
A post-mortem examination found the cause of death was a head injury sustained from falling down the stairs in his home.
The teenager, and a 15-year-old who was also arrested in connection with the incident, have been released with no further action.
Det Ch Insp Jim Clough, of Humberside Police, said: "We can now confirm there was no third-party involvement in the man’s death and his injuries have been found to be consistent with falling down the stairs in his home."
He added that the family was being supported by trained officers.
