Refurbishment work at a building which forms part of the new hospital site in Jersey has started.

The government said construction work at Mulcaster House had begun as part of the scheme to build the £710m Overdale Acute Hospital in St Helier.

It said, once the renovation was completed, the building would initially serve as a site office during the construction of Overdale before becoming the Health and Care Jersey Facilities Management team's base.

The government added that access to Mulcaster House would be restricted during the refurbishment work but overflow parking facilities for the neighbouring crematorium would remain in place on the road leading up to the building.
