At any point, there are dozens of photographers out and about in Bristol capturing snapshots of life, from news to sport and live entertainment.

The best medicine: Bristol Comedy Garden has returned to Queen Square with some of the biggest names in stand-up, including Harry Hill, performing in the giant teepee. The event finishes on Sunday.

New life on the stage: A Child of Science is running at Bristol Old Vic until 6 July. It's the story of the city's connection to the development of IVF, and the challenges those involved at the time faced.

Bike night: Hundreds of motorcycle enthusiasts gathered at Fowlers on Friday to talk all things two wheels. The well-known Bristol business can trace its roots all the way back to when the Fowler family founded it in 1926. Friday's event raised £4,000 for charity.

Family fun: Dancers from D Wild Fitness perform at the Knowle West Community Festival on Saturday. The event, held at the Filwood Community Centre, was a free day of performances and workshops aimed at showcasing local talent and bringing the community together.

Flying high: Alicia Hempleman-Adams photographed in Bristol. She was made an MBE for services to hot air ballooning in the King's Birthday Honours list on Friday. Bristol is a hub for ballooning, not least because of the international balloon fiesta held every summer.
