Gas power station takes on 'biggest energy challenge'
There are huge challenges facing the energy industry. Oil and gas reserves in the North Sea are falling and our dependence on gas imports is growing.
There is also the added pressure of meeting green targets.
The BBC's Simon Jack visited a new super-efficient power station that is due to open at the Isle of Grain in North Kent.
He spoke to energy minister Charles Hendry, and Alison Kaye of the National Grid.
