Hu Jintao expected to sign trade agreements on US visit

Chinese President Hu Jintao has landed in the US for a four-day state visit, in a crucial meeting of the world's two biggest powers.

President Hu is also expected to travel to Chicago, where some predict he will sign a series of trade and investment agreements.

A Chinese business delegation has already announced deals with US Companies, including a $500 million deal for General Electric to supply China with about 50 gas turbines.

There are also reports that agreements on cotton imports have been struck with six companies, worth $600 million, as Caroline Hepker reports.
