IMF: Global economy enters 'dangerous new phase'

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has warned that the global economy has entered a 'dangerous new phase' with a renewed risk of recession in Europe and America.

The growth estimates for Britain and other major economies have been sharply reduced and the IMF has called for Europe to work harder to tackle the debt crisis.
