Global economy: Markets tumble around the world

Share prices in London and around the world have suffered dramatic falls as markets reacted to a series of grim warnings about the state of the global economy.

The World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the US Federal Reserve all spoke of the dangers and risks ahead.

But David Cameron has gone further by saying the global economy is 'staring down the barrel'.
