Growing concern that UK is sliding back into recession

On the eve of the the chancellor's Autumn Statement, there is growing concern that the UK economy is sliding back into recession.

The international economic organisation, the OECD is predicting a collapse in growth, and another surge in unemployment in the months ahead.

Announcing £30bn of investment in construction projects, George Osborne said there was no quick fix for the economy and that the public understood the need for Britain to deal with its huge debts.
