Downing Street 'won't block other RBS bonuses'

The government has said it will not block bonuses to other RBS executives, after chief executive Stephen Hester decided to waive his award of £963,000 in shares.

The Labour leader Ed Miliband has said he wants new rules to govern all bonuses.

But the government says bonuses are a matter for the relevant boards and the individual bankers themselves.
