Lord Young: 'Good time to start a business'

An age cap on accessing taxpayer-funded loans to set up a business should be removed, says the prime minister's enterprise adviser, Lord Young.

It is one of the main recommendations in his latest report on encouraging small firms.

Other proposals put forward by the former trade and employment secretary include making it easier for small businesses to bid for £230bn a year of public sector contracts.

Lord Young said there was a whole wealth of talent in the over-30s group and that it was "a very good time to start a business".
