Instability casts cloud over Turkish economy

While neighbouring economies in Europe have struggled in recent years, Turkey has enjoyed a rapidly growing economy, with the tourism industry flourishing and wages rising.

But as violent protests spread across the country last week, many business took a financial hit and the country's stock market plunged.

The government has been quick to dismiss the idea that the demonstrations could spark a "Turkish Spring", but is it now set for tougher times?
