Will riverbed sand ban damage India's building industry?

India recently banned mining of sand on river beds to clamp down on what the local media have called the "sand mafia".

The country's National Green Tribunal wants to stop widespread illegal mining.

However, the issue has become politically controversial with the construction industry warning of imminent shortages.
