'Wardrobing' hitting online retailers

One in six women are "wardrobing" - returning clothes after wearing them on a night out - because of the pressure to look good on a budget, according to research.

The statistics from Vouchercodes.co.uk will not be a surprise to some shoppers in Manchester - who admitted to BBC Radio 5 live's Breakfast that they had taken back shoes and dresses after wearing them for one night only.

However director of the British Online Retailing Association, Adrian Quine, is concerned about the impact on internet sellers, who have to absorb postage costs.

He told the programme: "Unless there's something actually wrong... the law is on the side of the consumer, and the consumer can always threaten a bad review if somebody doesn't pay and that could be much more damaging."
