Rose Gong: 'China's number one matchmaker'

Serial entrepreneur Rose Gong has been talking about how she was inspired to create what is now China's biggest online dating site after being disappointed by her own online search for love in 2003.

"I wasn't young compared to the average marriage age in China," she recalls, "so my mum kept calling and urging me to go meet a boyfriend. I felt under pressure and signed up on several different online matchmaking websites."

Ms Gong had a bad experience and decided to launch her own site, Jiayuan - it prospered and now employs hundreds of people and is listed on the Nasdaq stock exchange.

Ms Gong has now launched another business, 91Waijiao, which aims to connect English language teachers through the internet to students in China.
