India considers cooking gas supply increase

One of India's biggest expenses is subsidising fuel for its people.

In an attempt to offset the hike in prices of fuel, India's government is considering raising the quantity of cheap cooking gas that it provides to every family.

It's an election year in the country, and some see this potential move as a way of appeasing the voters.

The BBC's Sameer Hashmi reports from Mumbai.
