Davos 2014: 'World economy needs rebalancing' says union

The theme of this year's World Economic Forum is "Reshaping the World" - something the UNI Global Union wants to do for workers.

Its General Secretary Philip Jennings says the corporate world should no longer be driven by profits, and that the health and wellbeing of staff should be more important.

Mr Jennings told BBC World that most of the global workforce had not benefited from the economic recovery - and this was harming demand.

"If we just increased the share of wages in the wealth produced by just over 1% we could create six-million more jobs," he said.
