Pfizer boss: UK research commitment for AstraZeneca bid

The chief executive of Pfizer has pledged 20% of the company's research and development headcount to be based in the UK if the deal goes ahead for the proposed takeover of AstraZeneca.

While facing MPs about the merits of the takeover, Ian Read said it was a "unprecedented" commitment but he could not give details on potential expenditure.
