Starter home scheme 'opens up ability to own home' - Brandon Lewis

First time buyers who are under 40 can now register to buy new homes at a discount of up to 20%.

It is part of the new starter homes scheme to encourage more people onto the property ladder.

Labour say the plans will ring hollow for those priced out of the market.

Housing Minister Brandon Lewis said the scheme would create another 100,000 homes for first-time buyers.
