Election 2015: Rival accusations of secret tax plans

The official start of the new tax year has sparked a fresh battle between the two main parties over their respective economic plans.

The Conservatives say new tax measures mean millions of people are better off, but shadow chancellor Ed Balls said Britain could not afford five more years of Tory policies.

Both Labour and the Conservatives say their rivals have secret plans to raise taxes if they win the general election.
