PJ Harvey challenges prime minister over arts funding

Two time Mercury Prize winning PJ Harvey has said she is worried about cuts to arts funding.

Speaking on the Andrew Marr Show in Manchester, where the Prime Minister David Cameron was also a guest, the singer said that Somerset has had "100% cuts to arts funding".

Mr Cameron, who says his wife Sam recently bought the latest PJ Harvey album, said that "of course we are having to make difficult spending cuts but the lottery can do a massive amount".

Dorset-Born PJ Harvey became the first person to win the Mercury Prize twice in September of this year, with her album Let England Shake.
