BBC's Tony Hall: Licence fee system works

BBC Director General Tony Hall appeared before the Culture, Media and Sport select Committee at the House of Commons to discuss the future of the BBC on Tuesday.

Director of Television Danny Cohen, director of strategy James Purnell and former secretary of state for Culture, Media and Sport Dame Tessa Jowell MP were among those being questioned.

During the session Lord Hall stressed that he wanted 'the importance of the BBC to continue' and that the BBC is the 'greatest cultural force in Britain'.
