Scientists asses whether exercise helps combat dementia

Dementia is a distressing illness and one which, we are warned, will become much more common as the population ages.

Some drugs can slow its advance but in many cases patients are given sedatives just to keep them subdued.

So scientists are looking at other ways of managing the disease and it seems exercise could help.
