Children meet their donor mother

Most men and women who donate their sperm or eggs to enable someone else to have the chance to have a child do not know who they are giving to and have no contact with the family they have helped.

Joan Isherwood from Warrington, Cheshire, had twins as a result of a donation by Sylvia Bass and they decided to meet. Mrs Isherwood's son, Jonathan, told BBC Breakfast that it was "amazing" to meet his donor mother.
