Men 'cannot talk about feeling lonely'

Loneliness is more associated with men because a lot of men "cannot talk about it", according to the chief executive of The International Longevity Centre (ILC).

Baroness Sally Greengross told the Today programme that there are helplines which are helpful but not everyone is going to take that proactive stance.

A new report by the ILC suggests that an increasing number of men are facing loneliness and isolation in their old age.

First broadcast on the Today programme on 13 October 2014
