Figures show levels of 'higher risk' organ transplants

More than a quarter of organ transplants last year were said to be from ''higher risk'' donors, according to figures given to the BBC.

These are organs which may have come from older people, cancer patients, or drug users.

Earlier this month, a surgeon apologised after the deaths of two patients who had been given diseased kidneys.
